So Ronan and I paid the Two Conservatories-Local Resident Rate, $20 each. What they mean by local resident is whoever with a valid Singapore address in their IC. So the $50 that we won was really used up for this. $20 each for the conservatories tickets and $5 each for the OCBC Skyway, amount to the total of $50. Voila! Read about the story and the review of OCBC Skyway story and the review for the OCBC Skyway here.
Flower DomeGoing in!! You can expect lots of species of flowers posters as you walk in through the entrance. All vibrant colour looking posters, makes your heart really excited to see what's more next.
Once you are inside, you will feel this nice cool environment. The place is huge! We didn't know where to start or how to walk in order not to miss anything. We just walked with our guts and we met a lot of dead ends.
The first part is all green. For all of you out there who loves plants, this is your heaven! You get to see different species of plants for all over the world without having the need to travel around!
After quite some time, I finally see some colours!! Vibrant colours of flowers start to appear in front of my eyes. Girls will always be girls, you will be so happy at the sight of flowers. Pictures of the pretty flowers credits goes to Ronan!
I LOVE THIS SHOT SO SO SO MUCH!
Right after passing by the flowers, you will be greeted by even more colourful display in the middle of the hall just before the exit! I later on learnt that it's actually the flower gallery, which they will change the display according to the festive period.
As you can see from the pictures, colourful eggs are everywhere! Yes, it's Easter!! My sister went there recently before Deepavali, all the flowers and display are actually inspired by the festive culture! The Deepavali version is really nice! If Easter is considered cute, I will say Deepavali is considered Gorgeous! Christmas is coming! I bet we can expect some candilicious looking kind of display!!
This is just magnificent! Spectacular!! I love this place. It gives you that very peaceful feeling in you. The waterfall is just too awesome. Cloud Forest doesn't have a lot of fancy plants and flowers like Flower Dome, but I can assure you it is no less interesting even a bit!
You will see this part with a miniatures of houses and trains, very cute! I am not sure what it all means or link to the Cloud Forest though. All I know is that it is CUTE!
Once you go up to the top level, you will be able to walk the bridge that stretch out of the "forest". It's really nice to be up there. The view is just "oh-so-nice".
When everything is done, you will proceed down to the basement with the story of how it all started. While touring around earlier on, especially during the night, I couldn't help but to ask myself, how is it called "conservatories"? I really don't see how the whole thing is actually "conserving" the environment in anyway. All the air-con and the lights at night, how is it conserving the environment?
Luckily, at the basement there, a lot of explanation about how the whole thing actually works without us realising it. Read about the awesome artwork and how it is giving back to the nature here.
We requested re enter chop as we went out (it's free!). We wanted to see how it is at night, so we came back again after our lunch at Peach Garden (worst service in my WHOLE entire life! I am bona blog about it soon!)
The night view was awesome!!
You should drop by for a visit if you haven't!
